Northwest
SEED was granted by the Energy Trust of Oregon
to produce an educational and reference Guidebook
about developing community owned wind energy
projects.
Northwest SEED turned to Ecofusion to deliver a print product that would use
design functionality to engage a wide variety of readers. Community wind energy
projects are highly viable for rural communities, are financed by the investment
sector, and engage state and local agencies in the permitting process.
The challenge presented to the Ecofusion creative team was to produce an engaging
educational
product
which could
transmit information to novices and experts alike.
solutions and services:
Ecofusion worked directly with the editorial team of the project. As a result
our team developed a print production process that aligned concept design and
the content development. Northwest SEED was able to make editorial decisions
based on Ecofusion's
creative direction for the project.
The Ecofusion project team leveraged
its experience working in rural communities to develop a design approach to communicate
effectively about renewable energy projects. This approach combined with industry
knowledge allowed Ecofusion to design the best format for the publication.
The final product provides the background information on community wind development
and lays out the complext components of a project, including assessing a wind
resource, siting, permitting, ownership models, interconnection, financing, and
sources
of financial assistance.
